Elisa Brown joined up to the Music Mentoring project at the age of 15 on the recommendation of a friend. Although Elisa enjoyed singing, she lacked confidence which prevented her from performing in front of people.

Elisa participated with this project by writing & recording songs, learning music theory and improving her piano playing skills. As her confidence grew she was able to perform in front of her peers and she would also use the studio independently to record her own songs.

As the Music Mentoring project progressed her confidence grew and she was soon able to perform on stage and was very happy to showcase her skills in front of others.

Now Elisa is studying music full time in college and is also volunteering at Square 1 as a project assistant peer mentoring. She continues to use the studio independently to record and has performed at many events.
